Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions readers ask most about KK Baby: our content, our tools, our name database and how we make money.

About the site

Who writes KK Baby?

A small editorial team of parenting journalists working with health-trained reviewers. Every article has a named author and a visible last-updated date, and health content is reviewed before publication. See our Editorial Policy.

Is the information reliable?

We source from national health guidance, obstetric and paediatric bodies and peer-reviewed research, and we re-check health articles on a rolling schedule. It is still general information — your clinician knows your situation and we do not.

Is KK Baby free?

Yes. Everything, including all the calculators and the full name dictionary, is free. Advertising and affiliate commission pay for it.

Tools and calculators

How accurate is the due date calculator?

It uses the standard 280-day rule from your last period, adjusted for your cycle length, plus conception and IVF transfer methods. Only about 4% of babies arrive on their exact due date, and a dating scan is always more accurate than a calculation.

Do you store what I type into the tools?

No. Every calculation happens in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers.

Can I print or share a result?

Yes — each tool has a print option and a share button, and printed results are formatted cleanly for your notes or your clinic appointment.

Baby names

How many names are in your database?

More than 10,000, each with a meaning, origin, religion, gender, pronunciation, syllable count, numerology, lucky attributes, personality notes, nicknames, sibling suggestions and related spellings.

Where do the meanings come from?

Meanings are drawn from etymological and cultural naming sources for each language root. Where a name has more than one accepted meaning, we list the main ones.

Is the numerology serious?

It is traditional Chaldean numerology, calculated correctly from the letters of the name, and offered as cultural interest rather than science. Plenty of families enjoy it; nobody has to.

A meaning looks wrong for my language. Can I tell you?

Please do — email corrections@kk.baby with the name and the correct meaning, and we will review it.

Health questions

Can you tell me whether my baby’s symptom is serious?

No. We cannot give personal medical advice. Contact your doctor or emergency services — see our Medical Disclaimer for red-flag symptoms that need urgent care.
